Biotechnology Breakthroughs in Modern Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Techniques
Abstract
The rapid advancement of biotechnology has revolutionized medical diagnostics and therapeutic interventions, fundamentally transforming healthcare delivery worldwide. This comprehensive review examines the most significant biotechnological innovations that have emerged in the past decade, focusing on their applications in disease diagnosis and treatment. Key breakthroughs include CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), liquid biopsies, immunotherapy advances, nanotechnology applications, and artificial intelligence integration in medical diagnostics. These innovations have enhanced diagnostic accuracy, reduced treatment times, and improved patient outcomes across various medical specialties. The integration of personalized medicine approaches, enabled by genomic profiling and biomarker identification, has shifted the paradigm from one-size-fits-all treatments to targeted therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, the development of point-of-care diagnostic devices and telemedicine platforms has increased healthcare accessibility, particularly in resource-limited settings.
